Nicolas Commergnat & Alliance Genève
Gifted Geneva-based watchmaker, Nicolas Commergnat trained at the Geneva Watchmaking School and completed an internship at Patek Philippe before becoming a protégé of master watchmaker Svend Andersen.
At just 21 years old, he opened his own independent atelier and began restoring vintage timepieces for renowned names such as Andersen, Christie’s, Hôtel des Ventes de Genève, Thomas Faerber, and distinguished collectors including Dr. Helmut Crott. Nicolas Commergnat also began his professional career by establishing the AFP/CFC watchmaking training programme at IFAGE, where he served both as instructor and co-head of educational development.
In 2011, he founded Alliance Genève Sàrl, where he created a technical design office dedicated to the development and production of haute horlogerie mechanisms for various watch brands, alongside specialised prototyping and movement assembly services. Alliance Genève also became highly regarded for complex watch repairs and the restoration of vintage timepieces for leading Swiss maisons.
From 2015 onward, he collaborated with Aurel Bacs, joining the inaugural Phillips & Bacs Russo auction sales, ensuring the integrity and authenticity of timepieces undergoing restoration for auction purposes, while also providing technical expertise and support for authentication and appraisal processes.
